Dyslexia Foundation
The Study Skills Support Agency is a department within the Dyslexia Foundation. The Dyslexia Foundation is a registered charity (1080330) and a company limited by guarantee (03839181). The organisation was established in 1998 to enable equality for dyslexics in learning, employment and the community. We offer a wide range of services which includes, free advice via a helpline and though a drop-in service, free practical support, free dyslexia screenings and assessment. Additionally, access to employment opportunities, job search support, CV writing, personal development courses, mentoring, one to one support in the workplace, guidance, for Access to Work grants, research and accessible material for dyslexics, and their families.
We have adopted the ‘Go for It!’ reading programme; this offers adults with low literacy levels reading support. We receive referrals from the Jobcentre plus, Remploy, and the Probation Service offering these organisations free dyslexia screenings for their clients.
We are committed to working with other similar organisations locally, regionally, nationally and throughout the globe.
Our charity is unique as we are the only one in the North-West area to offer these services. Each year 1000+ people are helped and supported.
